Job Description - Pre-Sales Consultant

Salary R20k - R35k per month dependent on experience Overview:A JSE listed company that is a leader in its field, providing a broad range of products, technical skills and specialised services to support enterprise-wide IT infra-structure and telecommunications across Africa and the United Kingdom, is looking for a dynamic, disciplined, technical individual to fill an immediate position as a Business Intelligence Practice Pre-Sales resource.

The Business Intelligence specialist works to develop solutions that involve reporting, OLAP Advanced Analytics, dashboards, scorecards and other BI related needs. The Pre-Sales role is a customer and vendor-facing position that focuses on providing pre-sales support for sales and consulting opportunities in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape region.This is a sought after employer and a fantastic opportunity to join a leading technology company.Key responsibilities:

  • Participating in pre-sales calls, developing custom demonstrations, delivering customer presentations and demonstrations.
  • Working with employees to develop proposals, implementation plans and other technical documents.
  • Conducting application and migration assessment services, performing advanced or complex prototyping for Business Objects BI products (and potentially other products ).
  • Networking with Vendor Sales Reps to generate additional opportunities.
  • Local travel will be required from time to time.

Education, qualifications and experience required

  • Extensive knowledge of business intelligence product offerings - 3 years minimum practical experience working with BI products.
  • Solid experience with Web technologies, XML, JavaScript, SXLT programming skills, languages, database concepts, data warehousing, etc.
  • Experience in sales or pre-sales environment and ability to act independently during the sales cycle.
  • Ability to manage time effectively. Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills written and verbal.
  • Ability to commute to and support needs in Western and Eastern Cape.
  • BS degree in business or IT or equivalent experience.
