Job Description - Young Chartered Accountant for expat position
PLEASE NOTE: Regrettably, we are unable to consider candidates who do not have prior mining industry experience (This is a crucial requirement and not negotiable).
Contract (renewable) position in the mining sector in a remote area in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Salary up to USD7000 per month (net), depending on skills and experience with travel allowance dependent on location of recruitment
Single status residence with vehicle, accommodation and meals provided and 84days annual leave (total days off site).
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS:
Young registered Chartered Accountant and experience in a mining environment
3-5 years post-graduate experience is required
A proven track record of managing a finance department.
Use of implementation of ERP systems, specifically the use of SYSPRO and knowledge of IFRS reporting is also required
French speaking would be strongly advantageous
Ability to manage financial operations in multiple entities
Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment
Capable of communicating financially to Senior Management
A strategist and logical thinker
Excellent writing and communication skills are a prerequisite as is the ability to maintain high ethical standards in both internal and external business relationships.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial management and accounting including financial modeling and financial forecasting.
Ensure that accounting entries are done properly, that procedures are followed.
Prepare the monthly closing file and to check/do recons on the accounts.
Interact with auditors and prepare, do follow up with them and dig whatever information they require.
